"AmericanThai.net"
AmericanThai.net was launched in 2007, by Dr. Jarunee (Joy) Nugranad-Marzilli, under the name American-Thai Children Network, to create an opportunity for those children to become aware of their uniqueness as people who are part-Thai and part-American. They surely have been nurtured with a mixture of both American & Thai cultures. "อเมริกัน-ไทย ดอท เน็ท" ได้เริ่มต้นขึ้นโดย ดร. จารุณี นักระนาด-มาร์ซิลลี (จอย) เพื่อส่งเสริมให้เด็ก "อเมริกัน-ไทย" ได้มีความรู้ ความเข้าใจ และภาคภูมิใจในตนเอง ด้วยเอกลักษณ์ในการผสมผสานกันของความเป็น "อเมริกัน" และ "ไทย" American-Thai or Thai-American children have one parent that is Thai and another parent who is American. They also include the children whose parents are both Thais and/or part-Thai and the children grow up with both cultures -- American & Thai, or in other words "East meets West". ความหมายของเด็ก "อเมริกัน-ไทย" หรือ "ไทย-อเมริกัน" นั้น หมายรวมถึงเด็กๆ ซึ่งมีผู้ให้กำเนิดคนหนึ่งเป็นคนไทย และอีกคนหนึ่งเป็นคนอเมริกัน หรือเด็กๆ ที่มีผู้ให้กำเนิดทั้งสองคนเป็นคนไทย หรือ มีผู้ให้กำเนิดคนใดคนหนึ่งที่มีเชื้อสายไทย เด็ก "อเมริกัน-ไทย" ถือกำเนิดและเติบใหญ่ขึ้นมาท่ามกลางสองวัฒนธรรม คือ "อเมริกัน" และ "ไทย" หรือระหว่างวัฒนธรรม "ตะวันตก" กับ "ตะวันออก” This AmericanThaiDotNet @ Multiply website was specially created as an introduction to the AmericanThai.net society. The website serves as a special source of information for anyone who is interested in American and Thai culture. This special website is to promote the American-Thai children as well as parents. In addition, this website is a place where anyone can share their experiences living with both Thai & American, or in other words, "East & West", cultures. In addition, we welcome friends around the world whom we have met since the launch of AmericanThaiDotNet @ Multiply on December 18, 2008. We all share one thing in common as we all are proud of being Thai.AmericanThaiDotNet @ Multiply แห่งนี้ จะช่วยแนะนำ ส่งเสริม และประชาสัมพันธ์สังคม อเมริกัน-ไทย และเป็นแหล่งรวบรวมข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับขนบธรรมเนียมประเพณีและวัฒนธรรม ทั้งในความเหมือนและความแตกต่างกันของ "ไทย" และ "อเมริกัน" เพื่อการประชาสัมพันธ์เด็กๆ "อเมริกัน-ไทย" และผู้ใหญ่ เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนประสบการณ์การดำรงชีวิตในสองวัฒนธรรม ทั้งของตะวันตกและตะวันออก นอกจากนี้ การที่ AmericanThaiDotNet ได้เริ่มเปิดตัวขึ้นที่ Multiply เมื่อวันที่ 18 ธันวาคม พุทธศักราช 2551 จึงได้นำมาซึ่งการพบปะกันกับเพื่อนใหม่ ซึ่งอยู่กัน ณ ประเทศต่างๆ ทั่วโลก สิ่งหนึ่งที่เราเหมือนกัน ก็คือความภาคภูมิใจในความเป็นไทย Let the American-Thai children rock with the best of both worlds.
